Everyday Walking
Regular walking can help your physical and mental health and reduce the risk factors for a number of diseases including some types of cancer, type II diabetes and coronary heart disease, and it can help reduce the risk of dementia.
The NHS lists walking as a simple, low-cost method to improve your health and wellbeing and offers advice to those who are inactive and wish to add walking into their daily routine or increase the amount that they do.
Whether you want a social walk to improve connections and confidence or just a chat and a cuppa with other local residents; a health walk to help with lowering blood pressure and maintaining a healthy weight; to help with your mental health – reducing anxiety and improving sleep; or if you want to walk on your own, out in nature or exploring the history of your local area – there are walks across the Staffordshire Moorlands to suit all levels and all needs including self-guided walks and a number of walking groups.

Group and Guided Walks
There are several organisations and groups across the Staffordshire Moorlands that organise led walks, including John Hall Wellness Garden, Walk the Moorlands and Biddulph Youth & Community Zone. Details of the walks can be found through their web pages and social media, or by visiting the venue.
If you’re interested in setting up a community walk or have an existing walk that you would like to list here on our site, please get in touch at info@staffsmoorlands.co.uk!
