Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival Returns This Spring!
Plans are well underway for the Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival, and excitement is already building as we prepare for another fantastic celebration of walking, wellbeing and our beautiful local landscapes.
The festival will take place from Friday 24 April to Monday 4 May, with walks and activities happening right across the Moorlands. Behind the scenes, organisers are currently busy collating walks and events to help shape this year’s programme. Some walks have already started appearing on the festival website – and there’s plenty more to come.
A festival that keeps growing
The Walking Festival continues to go from strength to strength. In 2025, more than 80 walks and activities took place across the Moorlands – up from 50 the previous year. Over 1,500 locals and visitors laced up their boots to explore stunning scenery, uncover hidden histories and enjoy the simple pleasure of walking together.
Organisers received some truly fantastic feedback, with many people highlighting how welcoming and well‑organised the walks were. The passion and dedication of local organisations and volunteer walk leaders is what makes this festival so special, and their efforts were at the heart of its success.
Looking ahead
Final details are still being added, so we encourage everyone to keep an eye on the festival website as the programme continues to grow over the coming weeks.
Alongside the festival, work is also underway on the Walk the Moorlands programme for April to September, which will offer even more opportunities to get out, get moving and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
